First off let me say that there is no better feeling as a small label to see bands move on to bigger things, in Former Thieves case it was obvious from the Start. With their good attitude and great work ethic the sky is the limit, No sleep is a solid label and I hope the best for everybody involved. Here is a statement from No Sleep.
No Sleep Records is proud to welcome the newest members of the family, IOWA’s own, Former Thieves. Since their inception in 2009, the “Botch meets Modern Life Is War” quartet have managed to put in more footwork in a little over a year than most bands do in their entire careers. Following their plans to tour in support of their recent 12″ EP via Mayfly Records, Former Thieves will finish writing songs for their No Sleep debut. Head over to the bands MySpace (myspace.com/formerthieves) now to hear a demo version of “Everything Has a Price, Everything is Stolen” which will be on the bands debut LP out in early 2011. So I have never kept it a secret that I am an animal rights advocate, and this is something that is extremely important to me. This is a bill that will give millions of factory farmed animals in Ohio the most basic humane considerations. Although I would love it if everybody went vegan, I would be happy if everybody just really gave a good look at where there food comes from. If you are an Ohio resident please look at this site and consider helping or just signing the petition.
