The presales start today at 12pm est. The first pressing of  ”Gray Light” will be of 500, the first 400 will be a gray marble, the second 100 will be translucent blue. You can pick up marble gray by itself or be one of 25 to grab a both colors set(the other translucent blue are only available through the band).  The first 50 people to order ”Gray Light” will be put into a drawing, one of you will also receive a test press with your order. Mayfly Booking is a simple idea. We are looking to collect as many booking/promoter contacts nationally as we can so we can try to make it easier for our artists to get out on the road. I would love to use these down the line so Mayfly can also offer booking agent services to our active roster. For now, I’d like to start by offering a helping hand. This is where you come in. I need you to email mayflybooking@yahoo.com with contacts for yourself or local promoters, the city you live in, and the capacity the venue you book in can hold. I can’t make this clear enough - Mayfly artists are usually smaller bands on the way up. This list does not have to be traditional venues. We will happily accept contacts for promoters of dive bars, house shows, community centers or wherever your community supports touring artists. Thank you in advance for your help.

We could not be more excited to welcome North Carolina’s Barrow to the family! Barrow plays a mixture of indie/screamo/post hardcore that goes from as abrasive as Pianos Become the Teeth or The Saddest Landscape to clean vocal harmonies that could fit seamlessly on a Balance and Composure album.  We were blown away when we heard their self released LP “Being Without”(listen here), for a first record this release showed such muturity and promise, we had to work with them. (VIDEO BELOW) 

Barrow is currently writing their Mayfly debut LP, you can expect this record in the back end of this year. Until then, please pick up their self released LP “Being Without” through the band or at the Mayfly Webstore!

We here at Mayfly Records are excited to announce that we will be releasing a split 7inch between two of our favorite Ohio bands, Signals Midwest and Worship This! Cleveland’s own Signals Midwest plays a mix of pop rock/indie/pop punk. Rather then give you a ffo, I suggest you check out their recently released to vinyl LP “Latitudes and Longitudes” released via Tiny Engines. Akron’s Worship This! also play a pop driven rock/punk hybrid in vein of bands like HWM, Iron Chic, and The Weakerthans with their own twist. Worship This recently released a 7inch “The Nard Years” via Messy Life Records, check it out.

This release will include an original track from each band and one cover of the other band’s track by each band. You should expect to see this release in early fall 2012. You can also expect a new Lp by Worship This! next winter released by Mayfly. Get Stoked!

Watching bands that were somewhat unheard of in most of the country when I found them, and seeing them do really well quickly is something I can never get enough of. The Main reason I started Mayfly was to give a hand to a band who is doing great things who need just a little help and exposure, I’m happy I have had some success doing  just that. When I first heard Code Orange Kids, I knew that I was hearing something special, they sounded like almost no current artist out there, they were young and excited, and driven by nothing more then making music they loved. I was hooked! I knew the second I heard “Cycles” that I had a classic on my hands, the question was, does anybody realize this, obviously a ton of you did! I’m honored by the support Mayfly has received, and just as honored to inform you that Code Orange Kids are now members of the Deathwish Inc roster. Below is Deathwish’s official statement.

Fresh out of high school and with an average age of 18 years old, Pennsylvania’s Code Orange Kids remind us off our own embryonic days in the aggressive music scene. Merging cryptic melody, dirty hardcore power, and intense dirges into their own uniquely inspired sound.
